Alright i am back from my company ASF,
Annual Staff Function, and i have lots of things
to share. Its was a short week for me, so starting
from
Monday.

Things are getting more busy in office with the
upcoming POC and lots of testing, planning are
been discuss and going to execute in the next
few months.
In the afternoon, went off with boss to city hall
while she have lunch with other bosses i didn't join
them as i know its going to cost me a bomb. So i
detach with them and head for my own lunch at
food court. The place was damn crowded at raffles
city chopping mall. Finally i got a seat and ordered
my food, its kinda a weird as my 6 seater table is
sitting with 5 different person where we all are
stranger to each other LOL. Weirddddd~

I can't image how i can survive in town around if i
am working here. This meal above cost me 10$, its
taste quite good though but every meal 10 dollar is
abit too exp lol After that went over to bedok for
our testing, i followed my boss is just because i can
take free cab around =) LOL lazy to take bus on my
own, wasting everyones time lol.
So for
Tuesday is the Start of our ASF, Its my first
time joining staff function since i in Singtel, i always
siam this event as i got school or something on. And
since i become perm i try not to be that low profile
anymore. Need to PR abit with others. So the Morning
starts very early at 645. The meeting point was at
comm centre, left home at 6 but took a cab instead as
i wanted to shit badly lol
Reached and done our head count and off we go
to the tuas custom!

When reached to the custom, my roommate realize
that he bring the wrong passport over. he bring his
daughter passport instead!! Qin Tian Pi Li !!! so
with no much of a option he have to leave and go
home. And for me i going to be sleeping alone.
So we carry on the journey and we are offered
breakfast onboard, and its nasi lemak,

Was struggling to eat the food as i more afraid if i
need to shit half way through the journey, i am
always quite a shitter, always go shit de. But i ate
it anyway, dun waste food.
So once finish i go to sleep, Sound like pig, i know
but no choice better than i have motion sickness.
So after 3 hrs we reached Malacca area, and for
the first time we have police escort to bring us in
to Malacca, we have 12 bus total of 500+ pple.
So we convey with police in. HOW COOL IS THAT

Oh and didn't mention our bus was the first bus
of the convey lol So we get to see the police
first hand. kinda kua zhang though but it felt great.
After much traveling with afew turn we are reaching
to the area where we staying. As we are a huge group
we are split to 2 different hotel, Ramada and swiss
garden hotel, but the event will be held at swiss.

For the hotel, Swiss Garden hotel looks newer but
i think ramada hotel was quite a good hotel too. So
we left our bag and process to lunch. We are not able
to check in until further notice.

Lunch was not very awesome, but its not too bad
too. Fruit tart was good, but the main dishes are
quite normal. So after lunch we been brief for our
activities which split between indoor or outdoor.
I choose the outdoor and its going to Jonker street
to do some simple task and eat the local food.
So the task was basically eat and wefie and eat!

Thats the end of our short activities, grabbed some
goodies for my family and off we go back to hotel
and we are very excited to see our hotel room!

As i though i going to be sleeping alone, someone
pressed the door bell, and told me he is going to
share room with me as his roommate have some
other reason that can't go for this trip. Well make
no different to me. So we become one night
partner LOL sound abit wrong though. But yeah.
Changed and prepare myself for the ASF dinner
which is at de other hotel. Took the shutter bus
and went over to the event slightly earlier to take
some photo and also chop seats.

So we choing in and chopped our seat, now i
understand. Why they say need to choing and chop
seats cos if we don't we will be split and seated alone.

So for this dinner i been very uneasy as i found out
that my project won 1 of the network excellence
award but i been asking around no Senior office
(boss level) is around. I look around only 4 of us
is on batch 1, chances of me speaking on stage will
be very very very HIGH. So i quite uncomfortable
and trying to remain calm.
The Dinner started really quite late so we go time
to check out our pic that we took earlier on.

And so the Dinner starts and many program, games
& lucky draw went on, Ofcos our dinner was served.
The food was so so, i wasn't having much appetite
as i am worried of what will happen later.

And so the much waited network excellence award
ceremony was starting. I still remember its was our
Prawn dish and i don't even wan to eat the prawn.
So it started with merit award, and those who won
the award just take the prize and took a pic and go.
So i was quite relieved, suddenly got mood to eat
my prawn. Then after that Bronze award, the MC
announced, "From bronze award onward, all project
group have to say something on their project or
give a short speech." Instant thunderstorm for me.!
So i put down my fork and awaits for my project
to be call. Wait quite awhile and finally Sliver
award we are called. Woot happy for us to get
a Silver for this. So i walked up confidently(trying)

The speech was not long, but i feel the pressure
of 500+ pairs of eye looking at us. and my team
member keep repeating saying. "i dunwan to
speak i dun wan to speak i dunwan to speak".
Came down and my table was clapping for me saying
i did a good job. Was a good speech, well not quite
sure is it real or not, cos my mind was kinda blank!.
So after the award, i was relieved the huge stone
finally left my heart. I carry on with my dinner.
MC carry on award to other teams, and they go on
award best presenter award for the presentation we
made during the judging time at july. To my amaze,
my Face appeared on the screen, i am 1 of the 2
person that get this award, and i am the only
Associate Engineer. Totally BLANK i walked up
again to collect my award, Thanked my GCTO
Group chief Technical Officer. and walk down.

Totally unexpected, even GCTO asked me am i
expecting this. I replied him i totally in shock,
thanks for the award. Thanks everyone for the
presentation and the hard work.
So with that high note we ended our ASF, didn't
won any lucky draw, but this award was a very
good prize for me already. The best dish was served.

So that night we all went out to party, found
a pub nearby our hotel and start some game
and drink some beer. It seem like they are
quite light drinker. Didn't order alot 2 tower
for 8 of us. Played a card bluff game, and
get to know more of each other character LOL.

So eneded the night around 2 am, reached hotel
and shower was already 3am. was dead tired.
We have to wake at 7am in the next morning.
So for Wednesday, its was a very early morning
as we need to wake at 7. Decided to skip hotel
breakfast to go for wonton mee. So as every one
gathered we was told the whole street was closed
LOL so we guai guai eat back our buffet breakfast
at hotel. After that was a very long session of
workshop where upper management talk ALOT
of things. Mainly a update on Singtel in all the dept.
Dozed off, but i am not alone. Almost all dozed off,
what do you expect? after a breakfast straight away
a long workshop lol. And i have a colleague even
more power slept through the first half of workshop
AT HIS ROOM. he the 1 of the only pple that nv
check out yet. He can't wake in the morning, really
power ar him!! lol, went up with his room mate to
wake him up. Lucky he manage to join at the later
part of the workshop.
After workshop was lunch, at nyoya restaurant,
we went to ole sayang, which is the same restaurant
that i went with my parent.

And off we go, back on bus onwards to home!
After 4 hr ride, we finally reached custom!

Get our passport chopped and off we go. Its was a
great trip for me and also i can never image some
of my old colleague are actually VERY LAME.

Me and my another colleague stun for a moment
as we process whats the joke about. Until we realize
we say to each other wah SIBEI LAME!!~
For me the day didn't end, I dropped at Science
centre and walked to Jurong east MRT, trained
all the way to kent ridge! YES school straight
after my trip oh GOD!. Sibei high!.
